Maldives Visa Requirements
The Maldive Islands are located in the Indian Ocean. This gorgeous island nation consists of 26 atolls (coral reefs that create lagoons). A tourist does not need a visa prior to going to the Maldives. Visas are issued upon arrival and are free of charge. There are several visa requirements that travelers need to be aware of. Passports need to have at least a 90 day validity when entering the country.
However, a 6 months validity is recommended. Blank visa pages in the passport are also required. It is good to have two or three blank pages. If a person is making a connection, he or she will need to provide a visa for their destination. Each Maldives visa is valid for 30 days, and can be extended for up to 90 days.
